Dreaming Eli’s Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, The Court of the Maddest, Merriest Things Alive, felt like stepping into a surreal kingdom where every outfit represented a different character within a mysterious court. Rather than presenting clothing alone, the collection told stories through silhouettes, textures and emotional symbolism.

Designer Elisa Trombatore once again embraced Dreaming Eli’s signature aesthetic — delicate lace, exposed corsetry and romantic fabrics — but this season each look felt deeply narrative-driven, almost like characters from a gothic fairytale.

Here are my top three looks from the collection: The Gentle Rebel, The Seductress, and The Royal Daughter.

The Gentle Rebel (Look 10)

“The Gentle Rebel” is a look that quietly radiates strength. The soft blush-toned corset and draped hood give the outfit an almost spiritual quality, as if the wearer exists slightly outside the rules of the court.

The structured corset creates a powerful silhouette, while the delicate fabric and flowing ribbons soften the look. The hood adds a mysterious element, suggesting a character who moves through the court observing rather than participating.

What makes this look so compelling is its balance between vulnerability and resilience. The softness of the fabric contrasts with the strength implied by the corsetry, creating the impression of someone who appears delicate but carries a deep inner power.

The Seductress (Look 12)

“The Seductress” represents the more sensual and theatrical side of the collection. The sheer lace corset dress clings closely to the body, with delicate boning and lace detailing creating a strikingly intimate silhouette.

The transparency of the fabric gives the look an almost dreamlike quality, while the corsetry introduces a sense of control and intention. It’s seductive without feeling overly dramatic — more like a quiet, practiced confidence.

There’s a sense that this character understands the power of presence and appearance. The look feels deliberate, elegant and slightly mysterious, perfectly embodying the seductive persona suggested by its name.

The Royal Daughter (Look 15)

“The Royal Daughter” offers a completely different narrative. This look feels restrained and ceremonial, with its structured white corset and sculptural sleeves evoking the image of someone shaped by tradition and expectation.

The crisp white fabric gives the piece a sense of purity and formality, while the rigid structure hints at the pressure placed on the character wearing it. It feels almost like armor disguised as elegance.

Compared to the other looks, this one carries a quieter emotional tension. It represents duty, discipline and restraint — a heavy contrast to the freedom suggested in other characters within the court.

Final Thoughts

What makes The Court of the Maddest, Merriest Things Alive so fascinating is how each look feels like part of a larger story. Dreaming Eli doesn’t simply present fashion; the brand creates characters and emotional worlds through clothing.

Through pieces like The Gentle Rebel, The Seductress and The Royal Daughter, the collection explores different expressions of femininity — softness, sensuality and restraint — all existing within the same imaginative universe.

I especially enjoyed reading the captions to their instagram posts, watching as they slowly revealed poetic segments to each look.
